Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Badge.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using Badge.io on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
2. Description of Service
Badge.io provides a digital badge issuance and management platform. Organizations may create, issue, and manage digital badges for events, employee recognition, education, loyalty programs, and community engagement.
3. Account Registration
You must create an account to use Badge.io. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Badge.io to issue fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive badges; to violate applicable laws; to infringe on intellectual property rights; or to engage in harassment, discrimination, or abuse of any person.
5. Badge Integrity
You are responsible for ensuring that badges you issue accurately represent achievements, credentials, or recognition. Issuing badges for achievements that did not occur is a violation of these terms and may result in account suspension.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of your organization's content and badge designs. By using Badge.io, you grant us a limited license to host and display your content as necessary to provide the service.
7. Payment and Refunds
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Refunds are available within 7 days of the initial payment. No refunds are issued for partial months or for plan downgrades.
8. Service Availability
We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice. We are not liable for downtime beyond reasonable SLA credits.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement with 30 days' notice. We may suspend or terminate accounts immediately for material breaches of these terms. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days before deletion.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Badge.io's liability is limited to the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco, California.
