1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, issue badges, or contact support. This includes your name, email address, organization name, and payment information. We also automatically collect usage data including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and badge claim events.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services; process transactions; send transactional emails and notifications; respond to support requests; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

We share data with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform (including Supabase for database hosting, Stripe for payments, and SendGrid for email). All third parties are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential and secure.

4. Badge Recipient Data

Badge recipients' data (name, email, badge achievements) is processed on behalf of the issuing organization. Organizations are the data controllers for their recipients' data. We process this data only as instructed by organizations.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Badge verification records are retained indefinitely by default to support long-term verification. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, row-level security policies, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@badge.io. EU/UK residents have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect functionality.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on our platform.
